Dr. Scates began his otolaryngology practice at the Greenwood Ear, Nose, and Throat. Born in Lansing, Michigan he comes to Greenwood from Okinawa, Japan where he was stationed while serving in the U.S. Navy. Dr. Scates earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Lake Superior State University and graduated Cum Laude. He then received his Medical Degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine, graduating with High Distinction in 1992. Dr. Scates completed his General Surgery Internship in 1993 and his Otolaryngology Residency in 1997 at SUNY Health Science Center Syracuse, obtaining his board certification in Otolaryngology in 1998. Dr. Scates uses the latest technology in endoscopic sinus and otologic surgery and is experienced in pediatric and head & neck surgery. He also provides ENT Allergy expertise.
