In total, the process of becoming a nurse practitioner typically takes between six to eight years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nurse practitioners provide care using the nursing model, which focuses not only treating symptoms but also identifying other influences on health and providing recommendations for a healthier lifestyle.
